Tavis Dream
Posted by Louis James on March 22, 2007
Last night I had a dream about my friend Tavis who died almost two years ago. I was helping him move from one home to another. The place he was moving too was this huge brownstone in a not so good part of town. He was a little worried that he wasn’t going to get his deposit back from the place he was leaving. So we got some “insurance” and brought along some framed pictures of the landlady’s family, her tv, and her computer. She was wise to us and we had to hide the stuff really quick in Tavis’ new place, as she followed us over. She didn’t find her stuff. After she left, we had a huge party and all my friends that Tavis had never met were there. I remember that a band played in the back of the gigantic living room that Tavis now had. Also, Tavis had a bed that was only as wide as a twin bed, but three times as long. The party was an all-nighter, and people were commenting on Tavis’ vast collection of candles as they left. I never once saw a candle in Tavis’ house in real life. When I finally did leave Tavis’ new place in the morning, the stairs to the street collapsed underneath me.
